About

I was Principal of one of the UK’s leading tutorial colleges in Oxford for 12 years and for the last decade have headed an international consultancy, building a reputation for developing innovative approaches to the delivery of education.

I am also the Director of Bath Tutorial College, a partnership with Crown Guardians, where I provide an academic consultancy service for their students.

I have been a member of the executive body of the Council for Independent Education (CIFE) (the national professional body for tutorial colleges), and was chairman of the organisation’s Academic Affairs Committee for several years. I also co-founded the Oxford Consortium, a forum in Oxford enabling sixth form college principals to share their knowledge and expertise.

I read English Literature at the University of Cambridge (Sidney Sussex College) and have been a guest speaker on the University of Oxford’s outreach programme, lecturing on a wide range of topics in literature.

I have worked on curriculum development for English Literature A level with the Oxford and Cambridge (OCR) Awarding Body and written extensively on schools and university education in the UK press (including the Daily Telegraph). I have also appeared on BBC Radio.
